"Cosmic Cowboys," the musical, began strangely after hearing "I Only Have Eyes for You" sung live, solo, and metaphysically by the Art Garfunkel half of the iconic Simon & Garfunkel of the 60's... From that moment, the young band singer in "Cosmic Cowboys" -- "Artie Browning" -- was sparked, with the "Eyes" music from the "Breakaway" album playing in the background lending its parallel dimension to channeling the first version of the first acts of "Cosmic Cowboys" over an evening in the spring of 1979. Pretty good "portal" music. The "Artie" character came to life also inspired by my brother, Peyton, who in our west Texas youth had idolized Elvis Presley and was often called "Elvis."
Ironically 28 years later (28 years serendipitously being a significant age in the play) -- "Cosmic Cowboys" pops out of Pandora's Box where I had stuck it while doing something else for 3 decades...found by my wise agent and great friend who insisted that I deliver up its early promise. Wondering how to finish the play, I looked for the original inspiration, that "I Only Have Eyes for You " recording -- and found instead a real gem, a new little "portal, "S.E.E."("Some Enchanted Evening," Art Garfunkel 2007.
Besides the album beaming in virtuoso vocals of unique beauty wafting to our little planet, I found that S.E.E. enables a splendid automatic writing portal! This Art Garfunkel album is not S&G hits and it's not from 1979 -- it's 2007 and exquisite, all love songs all the time; and apparently, an extradimensional conduit...
Close encounters of the heart?
Or is it really an "enchanted" evening...?
Could these symbols "Eyes" and "S.E.E." be just coincidental? More books and new developments proceeded with "S.E.E." playing in the background. What's going on here? Is it just pretty music and a great voice? Or does interdimensional, coded energy somehow slip in through the earnest chords (cords?) in this university math professor's soaring notes...?

A COMMENT ABOUT THE BARDS LINEAGE... AND SERENDIPITOUS SOUND HEALING...
We don't sing much anymore -- perhaps the compressed digital music and computer loops of our times compress more than sound; perhaps the heart as well. The "Enchanted" album somehow bypasses that compression; it is a cornucopia of love singing that inspires us to sing along -- songs from the days of beautiful ballad writing (the bards lineage?) when soaring love was affirmed and people liked to sing about it, knowing somehow that this was good for them... Perhaps these songs are classic for a reason, and when you add a vortex of transcendent vocals -- well, perhaps that is another kind of "sound healing" for the heart that reaches beyond; and what is more sorely needed now...?
With right brain training and meditation classes, I often do "sound healing" or "sound toning" (as taught by Tom Kenyon/Acoustic Brain Research) because I know that sound can deeply move energy in soul, body and heart; I find it amazing. It finally occurred to me that we compartmentalize too narrowly. Sound healing may come in unaccustomed form -- and sometimes when we look only to "new age" music for its calming and heart-opening capabilities, we might miss an event like Art Garfunkel's "S.E.E." in "popular" music. A couple of books and musicals later, I am exceptionally grateful for this one... :)
Whatever galactical vocal lineages flow through the singing of "S.E.E.," it is unusual and time-altering work beyond its beauty -- these vocals seem to contain sound codes. And I think, for a reason. Perhaps in the end, it is a kind of meditation... (growing out of walking 4000 miles across a continent?)... I recommend exploring its corridors and portals of the heart for yourself. Or put it on and relax -- or try channeling a book. Whatever works for you...

And have "Some Enchanted Evening" -- when a Gift of the heart is always best and the multidimensional can appear in unexpected places... :). S.E.E. what happens... T
